When I was learning Russian via subtitles on YouTube videos, I tried to take note of the instances of common words that were used. In the case of SimpleFlips, who streams himself playing Super Mario 64 hacks, he usually uses words like dude, bro, and man. All of these words are directly translated into Russian as chuvak.
It literally translates colloquially as \”dude, man, bro,\” as evidenced by SimpleFlip\’s usage of those words.
It is claimed to derive from the same word as the supposed English cognate chav, which is a Romani word.
