Roek Sae-Lim

He was born to Hokkien Chinese immigrants to Thailand.

Phraya Kraikosa

This new name derives from the Thai words meaning \”great star.\” It was given by King Vajravudh in 1913. He would become the lord of the Harbor Department. Krakosa\’s descendants would continue to occupy offices in government, academia, and finance.

However, there is a bit of a contradiction in the family origin of the Krairiskh. The family themselves have a tradition that they were descended from a Hokkien Chinese immigrant named Lim Riksh who became a translator for King Taksin in 1781.
